Das Initiative Deck wurde ursprünglich als 25 Karten Deck angekündigt, aber im verlaufe des 2019er Kickstarter wurden es erweitert auf 67 Karten.

Die Karten sind dafür gedacht um eine der folgenden Möglichkeiten zu spielen.
Ein Alternatives Initiatve System
Ein Initiative System mit Effekten und zufälligen Modifikatoren für das Spiel Battletech oder Alpha Strike
Um das Free Worlds League Karten Spiel Drax zu spielen
Um traditionell Poker zu spielen

Die 67 Karten sind wie folgt aufgeteilt
Es gibt für jedes der großen Häuser 13 Karten 

Dragons (Draconis Combine);
Eagles (Free Worlds League);
Fists (Lyran Commonwealth;
Sunbursts (Federated Suns); and
Swords (Capellan Confederation).

Dazu kommen noch 2 Star Lord Cards für ComStar.
Die Karten der großen Häuser haben Werte von 2 bis 10.
Bube, Dame und König wurden durch Mechwarrior, Duke und Succesor Lord.
Als letztes hat jedes Haus noch die Karte Ass.

Ein 16 seitiges Regelbuch ist auch noch enthalten
